“VOMO has been a win-win for me and my volunteers. It’s a great system for them to see all of the service opportunities we have in one place and to sign up for projects that best fit their abilities.”
“Through VOMO, we are increasing our mobilization of students, faculty, and staff to serve and give back to our community”
“With partners like Toyota, AARP and VOMO, we really are able to bring volunteer opportunities to anybody, regardless of where they are in the country,”
Technology is always improving, always innovating. Our team believes the VOMO platform should be no different. Each month we release new features to the platform to help empower A Movement For Good.
Are Anytime Projects your favorite way to serve your community? We’re pretty big fans of them too. Making an impact any time, anywhere is a great way to get and stay involved with an organization. But, keeping track of your volunteer hours or donations can be tricky since Anytime Projects don’t usually have timeslots or donation item amounts listed.
Now, we are giving volunteers the power to track their volunteer hours or items donated on Anytime Projects. These can be tracked online or through the VOMO app. Imagine a volunteer spends three hours on a Sunday knitting a blanket for an organization’s Project. Before, they would sign up, knit the blanket, then donate it. With the new feature, the volunteer can return to the Project Page and submit their hours. Once the blanket is completed and donated, they can submit that as well.
Organizers can choose whether or not they want to verify the submitted volunteer hours and donated items. When the volunteer hours are added to Anytime Project, organizations can immediately see it added to their economic impact. So, those three hours spent knitting, which would have gone untracked before, add $85.62 to the organization’s economic impact. As for the donated items, they appear as a line item in the organization’s Analytics Dashboard.
If you are frequently volunteering with the same organization or no longer volunteer with another, we’ve got a new update for you. Introducing the “My Orgs” setting.
The VOMO Network connects volunteers to as many organizations as they would like. This allows us communities to benefit from those who want to make an impact across causes they care about.
This new feature ensures they can interact more easily across organizations.
Volunteers can now regulate their relationship with organizations through the VOMO app settings. People are creatures of habit, so more than likely they have a favorite organization they like to volunteer with. To make seeing those Projects easier, volunteers can now select a “Primary Org” as their top organization to serve with.
Invitations volunteers receive from organizations will also appear in the settings menu. Volunteers can access their pending invitations through the app for easier acceptance.
It is also easier for volunteers to leave an organization they no longer serve with. With the tap of a button, a volunteer can leave any organization. However, their volunteer data with that organization will be preserved and remain in both their Volunteer Resume as well as the organization’s analytics. On the organization side, a volunteer that leaves the organization will appear as “inactive.”
